Mobile dog grooming in Brea, from downtown to the canyon
Brea packs a lot into a small city. There are walkable blocks around downtown and Birch Street, older neighborhoods near the Brea Mall, and newer homes climbing into the hills toward Carbon Canyon. A grooming van can work in all of them, as long as it has a level spot about a car-and-a-half long.
OC Mobile Dog Grooming does not groom dogs. We are a referral service. You tell us about your dog, and we pass the details to an independent mobile groomer who covers Brea. Your dog is then groomed inside the van, one dog at a time, while you stay home.
Hillside HOAs and gated streets
Many of the newer communities in north and east Brea have homeowners associations, and a few are gated. Some HOAs limit how long a service vehicle may sit on the street. Others want it in the driveway.
If your street is steep, say so. Most vans need fairly flat ground, and your groomer may plan to park at a level stretch of curb nearby. Add the gate code, guest parking rules, and any slope notes to the quote form. Your groomer will tell you in advance if they need an outside outlet. Most vans bring their own water.
Carbon Canyon burrs and summer foxtails
Carbon Canyon Regional Park is a favorite for Brea dog owners, and the hills around it dry out fast once spring ends. Grass seeds called foxtails cling to fur and work their way into ears, armpits, and the spaces between toes. A groomer checks those spots during a bath and brush-out.
Coats that hold onto everything
Spaniels, setters, and doodles with long leg feathering collect the most. Regular brushing helps, and a full groom every six to eight weeks keeps the feet and ears trimmed short enough that seeds have less to grab. If knots have already set in, matted coat care covers what to expect.
Off the 57 and Imperial Highway
State Route 57 runs along the western side of Brea, and Imperial Highway crosses the city from east to west. A groomer coming from Fullerton or Placentia usually takes one of the two. Weekday rush hours on the 57 can back up, so your groomer gives you an arrival window instead of an exact time. Late morning tends to be the most predictable.
Brea grooming costs at a glance
| Service | Small (under 25 lb) | Medium (25 to 60 lb) | Large (over 60 lb) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full groom | $120 to $160 | $140 to $190 | $165 to $250 |
| Bath and brush | $90 to $125 | $110 to $145 | $130 to $175 |
| Puppy's first groom | $90 to $130 | $90 to $130 | $100 to $140 |
Nail trims come with every bath and groom. Doodles and heavy double coats often run $15 to $30 more, and dematting adds about $15 to $20 per 15 minutes. Some groomers add a travel fee outside their usual area. Prices vary by groomer, since OC Mobile Dog Grooming is a referral service and your independent groomer sets the final number.
