What to tell us first
The more we know, the better the match. Start with your dog's breed and weight, then its coat. Is it short and smooth like a Labrador's, double like a Husky's, curly like a poodle mix's, or wiry like a terrier's? Then tell us what you want done and when your dog was last groomed.
Because the groomer comes to you, parking matters too. Tell us whether you have a driveway, or whether the van will need curb space or a guest spot. If you live in a gated or HOA community, add the gate code and any parking rules to the quote form.
We are a referral service and never groom dogs ourselves. The groomer we refer you to is an independent professional in North Orange County, and you settle the details and price with them.
Mobile dog grooming in Fullerton for trail dogs and house dogs
Fullerton has more open trail than many people expect. The Fullerton Loop links dirt paths and parks around the city, and Hillcrest Park is a familiar spot for a leashed walk near downtown. Dogs who hike those trails come home dusty, and in late spring and summer the dry grass sheds foxtails that catch in ears and between toes. A regular full-service groom with a tidy trim around the feet, ears and underside cuts down on what they carry home.
Not every Fullerton dog is a hiker. Plenty live in apartments and condos near Cal State Fullerton and Downtown Fullerton, where indoor floors and short walks mean nails grow faster. For those homes, street parking can be tight, so plan a spot about a car-and-a-half long for the van. Most visits take about 1 to 2 hours.
Hot afternoons and heavy coats
Fullerton sits inland, and summer days get properly hot. Most grooming vans are climate controlled, so your dog is washed and dried in a cool space without a car ride on either end. Double-coated breeds like Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds and Huskies drop a lot of undercoat as the weather warms. Shaving them usually does more harm than good. A de-shedding treatment clears out the loose fur and leaves the coat intact.
The 57, the 91 and arrival times
The 57 runs along the east side of Fullerton and the 91 along the south, with the 5 a short drive southwest. All three get heavy at rush hour. Your groomer drives those roads between visits, so most give an arrival window instead of an exact time. If you work from home, that window is easy to plan around.
Typical costs for a van visit
| Service | Small (under 25 lb) | Medium (25 to 60 lb) | Large (over 60 lb) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full groom | $120 to $160 | $140 to $190 | $165 to $250 |
| De-shedding treatment | $110 to $150 | $135 to $175 | $160 to $220 |
Prices vary by groomer. We are a referral service, so the independent groomer OC Mobile Dog Grooming connects you with sets the final price.
Nail grinding adds $10 to $15 when booked with a groom, and dematting is about $15 to $20 per 15 minutes. Some groomers add a travel fee outside their usual area, often a few dollars per mile.
